This was a complicated edit. I somehow was able to shift the image to the right to create the multi image by cutting out pixels in one area, then moving the image over. I believe there was also a duplicate layer underneath. I also adjusted hue and sat on both layers. I wanted the classic trees impressionistic image but couldn't find the right sort of group, so I created more of a Thomas Cole style with the color and technique. I applied a motion blur as well to create the ray like pattern on the image.
As to feeling the soul of the forest, when I look at this edit I feel like I am looking at a constantly changing landscape. I can almost imagine the deer coming out of the trees to graze in the field. I truly like the impressionistic version better than the original. I get more from this one.
