I have, and love, this lens ... but honestly hadn't thought to use it for "street" stuff. Great perspective.

the lens does not make the photographer... the photographer makes the lens.

You must buy a wide angle. Keep your eye out here - someone is bound to be selling one. But you must have one. Perhaps you could permanently borrow it from the owner? Would he miss it? :-)
