Challenge: Never Seen on DPC! (Advanced Editing VII)

Think "Tin Roof...Rusted" a line from the B-52's song Love Shack.

This is a sculpture made by Meryl Streep's husband that is permanently installed across from the 'walk in' entrance to MASS MoCA. It is this rock, as you see, that has been cut in half and then the two halves suspended by these four stainless poles. People still wonder.

Flat on my back with the lens at 18 mm and could not get the whole rock in the frame. It is suspended about 10 feet or so above the ground.

Can't say I've seen it before! Though, imo, it's not terribly interesting (sorry!!). But at least it's Never Seen on DPC!

Very odd. Hope you have an explanation of this in your notes. I expect it is a geology museum, or similar.

It looks like a giant potato! Wish you had gotten the whole thing into the frame though, and perhaps a little bit of context as well to figure out what's really happening here. Intriguing shot.

hmm, interesting but the technical aspects aren't looking too strong here, mostly because of the blown out sky and the edges of the rock being cut off. I agree that it's never been seen on here before but I wonder what it would have looked like from a different perspective.

Why does anyone do this? Clever find for the challenge topic. But, I'm not sure it's interesting enough to be a really high scoring image. (not voting)

Intersting bit of 'art'. I quite like the cut off ends here and wonder what the entire scene looks like?

Maybe metering on the sky and using fill flash could be a good choice. Anyway, this is one of my highest scored photos on this challenge. (the title helped a lot)
