This is a lift bridge in South Buffalo. I parked my car just off the bridge, and my wife and I took a walk across the bridge, in an attempt to get the best perspective for this shot.

While we were on the bridge, the guard rails were lowered on either side, indicating that the bridge was about to lift to allow a passing boat through. We thought we were going to be caught on the rising bridge, but were able to run off just as it began lifting (whew!!).

PS processing: levels, cropping, selective color, and unsharp mask.

I think the sign guy went a bit overboard, hehe. One is enough :P

Strangely, this showed up for me immediately after the other image of the same name = P
Nice use of desaturation to make the stop signs dominant. I like the textures as well.

Good capture and nice use of desaturation to highlight the signs. A braking car might have provided a more dynamic composition.

Took my idea, huh? Are you a Hollies fan also? Good use of desat although I might have selectively desaturated the striped poles also.
