Here's the original:
I thought it was too dark on the left for DPC, so I had mucked with it to bring out that side of the face a bit. Personally I like the half-look, and I've been meaning to try to get a self portrait in that style. |

I know you've been doing the strobist kinda thing - I'm hoping to find a human or two to try it myself, but until then I'll just be looking at what others are doing and taking notes... I trust your aim was a low key'ish kinda thing here, and while I think it's close, I'm not sure it's quite there. I can't offer any help with it, though. I quite like the light on the right side (as viewed) but on the left I'd have preferred it left a bit darker - as it is now, I can see a lot of grain/color noise, probably from trying to pull something out that was underexposed. |

I find the image a bit flat, the lighting could use some work. The background is also not completely black, I can see shapes in the background. |
