The Trillium is Ontario Canada's flower. It grows wild in the forests of Canada with a bloom of it's white flower in early spring. Each flower has 3 broad leaves, 3 smaller petal leaves and 3 large white pedals. I was on a walk with my mother and we came across this grouping at the side of the road. I think this shot meets the challenge on at least 3 levels :)

Hi Cole and *Greetings from the Critique Club *

First - don't feel bad about not scoring higher in the "three's" challenge. It was filled wih a ton of really great entries - you had a lot of competition.

Technical Stuff Exposure is perfect - and not easy to do with so much pure white in the composition.

Coposition is very effective and pleasing - placing the main subjects on a diagonal line is very effective.

Focus is good throughout - but this may be a problem in that the background - especially the largest trunk behind the left flower - becomes distracting. Opening the lens a bit may have been a better choice.

Lighting is very flat but there is a hint of some really nice light filtering through on the leaves at the right. I don't know if it would have happened, but more of that light on the rest of the image could have improved it.

Artistic elements It may be a bit more artsy if the left blossum was also facing more "head on." Perhaps if you moved to the left a bit you could have done that and also removed the tree trunk from directly behind the left flower.

Meeting the challenge Are you kidding? If anyone thought otherwise, he or she needs an eye doctor.

Keep shooting and sharing - you have a good eye.

nice exposure in the whites. beautiful flowers. would be nicer to exclude more of the background - shallower dof.
still, they are naturally arranged in a pleasing arched formation.
