I know I'm going to regret entering this.
Tiny flowers growing in my mom's garden. Plucked one and brought it indoors to shoot it under controlled lighting, instead of in the blazing sun outside.
Shot using a fill flash, bounced on the ceiling with my kit lens.
Shot in RAW mode, boosted exposure by 1/2 stop, using the new EosVU from Canon.
In PS: 10D sharpener action, crop, resize, dodged one flower, USM, and reduced saturation and added softness using an action I got off the web (moody). It basically just reduced the saturation and contrast and added a gaussian blur layer. Finally, desaturated the BG a little more using the sponge tool on desaturate.
I liked the overall effect, but this will probably bomb. Who knows, maybe not... |

| Great idea, meets the challenge. A little too soft for me though. I think the bright white background 'hurts' a little on the eyes. |

they are so soft, they almost look like frosting flowers on a cake. the texture is so defined, they "feel" like paper to me.
wonderful use of DOF to isolate them. |

| This image has a ghood feel to it, rather dreamy. The onlt thing that bothers me is the very bright background competeing for attention. |
