A very last minute entry this week. Thanks to my wife for the idea of shooting our baby's first pair of shoes. I was less convinced by the idea but am actually pleased with the result.
Shot with one strobe to create the low key light gradient. Pre focused on the spot where we were holding the shoes. Pressed the shutter on timer then ran back into position. Crop and rotate, noise, convert to B&W using silver effects, highlights/shadows, curves, sharpen, noise, resize, border, save

A very cool shot here, thank your wife for the idea!
1st Impressions, very dark with just the one lighting on the side, couldn't see the other hand at all very well. BUT, the more you look at it, the more you see your wifes hand. This is not a 5 second glance shot. But this is DPC. I think that is probably why it wasn't placed higher .
This is very creative and artistic, it wouldn't surprise me to find it hanging on your wall at home. You have done a great job in the post processing, very sharp, clean lines. A buttery softness on the shoes, good choice to have the man hand behind the feminine wrist.
I love the natural-looking side light, it really adds to this shot. The hands and shoes are beautiful but without the light the way it is it would've looked really boring, as well you probably know.
Very unique and cool picture. I wish I could see just a bit more detail in the shadows. Maybe it seems underexposed to me... not sure. I'm still giving a high score for the cool concept because I don't always trust my judgment when it comes to post processing.
