 Took a one week cruise with part of my family. Our first family vacation. Rented the 10-22 expecting to use it mostly on the ship. First time shooting with this wide angle perspective and it's really fun. This was taken at 10mm with just a slight crop to get rid of a floor plank with marks. Perhaps indeed a stretch for some when it comes to the challenge topic. But I was shooting from above and the water is way below, even though it looks like a wall. Just couldn't physically pan to the right anymore than I did.

Bought a G10 for when going ashore. Was hoping to get a long exposure shot and the quintessential lifesaver one. Didn't expect to get two in one. Took this shot during the last evening of our cruise trip, in my fancy dinner clothing, hehe. Used a cross railing as a rest and I got a few passerby's interest. A week's too short, wish the trip lasted at least 2-3days longer. After being in a photo slump, it was also really refreshing to take pics just for the sake of finding a shot that I like and no indoor setups hehe.
Just winging it and exploring a whole new place. Being in a totally new surrounding does wonders. I need to get out more often ;)

Didn't even look at this challenge never mind vote, but just saw this one now. Wow, I love it! Really great. Can't imagine what you have in store for the Free Study following your cruise, but I look forward to seeing it.

Perfect execution and amazing result. I'm sure this would win if it was a different theme. The sensation of "from above" isn't very clear on this image. But I must say, I love it and it's a superb photograph.

Duh- I should have recognized your work from the color alone. Very eye-catching, although I didn't get a strong sense of "from above" in this one. The angle reduces the importance of the POV for me, and the water looks like a passing train or something. Still, I gave it a 7 for the visual story and strong technicals. Hope you enjoyed the trip!

The dynamic element and the unorthodox perspective in this images makes it... combined with the clarity on the items onboard and the brilliant colours, you've got yourself a probable top 10 photo here... I've got it equal first in my voting with 3 others.
