Challenge: Team Sports Without Players (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Canon PowerShot G5
Location: Nurburgring, Germany
Date: May 27, 2004
Aperture: 4.0
ISO: 50
Shutter: 1/1250
Galleries: Sports, Black and White
Date Uploaded: May 31, 2004

Captured again in a brief moment off whilst working at the Nurburgring. Working behind the scenes very much makes you reaise what a huge team effort goes on to make Formula One what it is.Those who work on the tyres probably have as much a difference as the drivers themselves
Cropped the shot, adjusted curves and converted to black and white.

Hmmm, not sure about this one, although the pit crew may not class as "players" your title is incluing them as part of the "team" and therefore I feel that having them in the shot does go against the idea of the challenge. That said I do like the photo, the subject is nicely framed and I like the use of B&W. 7

My first impulse was "racing isn't a team sport -- it's one individual against another." But then I thought, "no way -- racing IS a team sport." Sure, you only have one driver, just as in football you have only one quarterback. Still football requires more than just a quarterback as racing does need more than just a driver -- the driver has a whole team behind him (or her). That being said, the person IN this photo WOULD BE one of that team, thus this photo doesn't meet the challenge -- you are showing one of the players. Dang... I liked this photo too (it beats looking at yet another photo of a basketball hoop by a long shot). I'd say you definitely have a keeper here, it just doesn't fit the challenge.

Picture could be a little sharper, but, the composition goes perfectly with the expectation set by your title. Absolutely Great title.

Really cool idea. I like that there's something in the forefront that draws the viewer's eyes into what teh guys inthe shop are doing. I even like the tires on the left side. Good luck 8

techinally, isn't that a player standing there?

Great exposure control on the white sides and the workers in the shadows.

Unconventional use of the notion of teamwork... the guys who design and work with those tires are the only reason that an F1 car stays on the road! The lines of the image definitely pull you into the tent, making you wonder what exactly they do in there...

Good use of B/W to evoke mood.
