well lets get back into this with a picture that will fall in the middle of the pack I'm thinking high 4's low 5's typical of what I do.

I'm happy with this it is now a top 5.

Nice editing job - you definitely pulled some mood out of it! I think your focus is fine - yellow is a really hard color to make look sharp.

Greetings from the Critique Club

Well done on getting a solid score in this challenge.

I like the centered composition, it works well for this type of flower shot, as does the square crop.

Having seen the original, I am very impressed with the processing you have done, definitely contributed to your score. Had you entered the original, I don't think you would have scored nearly as high.

From a technical point of view I would really have liked this image to be a bit sharper. It feels just slightly out of focus rather than a deliberate depth of field choice.

Overall though a good choice and a decent score.

I really like this, Rosemary - to me it's a very gentle view of what is normally considered a very bold flower, and you did an AWESOME job with the processing! You added richness and warmth to what was kind sterile, and I really like the way you brought out the subtle gradation of light. Excellent job of "seeing" what was there and making it happen. Congrats on the new entry in your top row, too!!
