Challenge: Team Sports Without Players (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Fujifilm FinePix S5000 Z
Location: Lowes Motor Speedway
Date: May 31, 2004
Aperture: 3.2
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/1000
Galleries: Sports, Action

This may be a stretch for the challenge (no players and "Notion of"), but I had good seats for the Coca-Cola 600 this sunday and had to try to get some pics. Took a bunch, but my lens is just not fast enough, and I had too much beer to pan at 175 Mph... hence the pole placement down the middle of the car - Oh well it was fun.
- Levels, saturation, contrast, crop, resize. - wish I could spot edit.

I like the concept; I wish you had been able to get this without the pole though.

This would be much better without the pole intersecting the subject. I won't quibble that sport car racing is a team sport, but those who showed pit crews came much closer to conveying that.

Interesting perspective - I would have preferred the shot if the poll on the fence wan't obscuring the car, and perhaps if the the focus was more on the car, and less on the fence.

i don't consider nascar a team sport in the traditional sense.

The "caging" is extremely distracting. While the title is catchy, the photo doesn't really have any appeal. Less fencing, and more of the car itself would have resulted in a better photograph, in my opinon.

There is a player in that car, but the cage blocks him out. Intersting idea.

I'm wondering if it woud have been that much better if you shot it with the pole of the cage a bit to the left or the right. However, good idea for this challenge. 6

I like this picture but perhaps because i`m Canadian, I do not consider auto racing a team sport. Great title.

I know a lot of people would say this is not a team sport, but I think it is. The driver, the pit crew, the car engineers, etc... all part of the team. Nice capture, particularly the composition.

A nice idea but you are showing the star of the team sport, so not in keeping with the theme of the competition.

I find the centre post far to distracting, a far better pict. from another view point. IMO
