I wondered about a maternity shot for this & if anyone would submit one.. To me, I thought the voters would DNMC it because obviously there's technically a child there, and DP voters are VERY technical. If I had voted, I wouldn't have cared and I would have voted on the merit of the image only.
In that regards, I think the position is a nice one. I don't really care for the duotone you chose. I think it's a bit harsh for a subject that is soft & gentle. I would have preferred something very subtle. b & w with maybe just a touch of sepia. I also would have chosen to blur out more of the background.. it's a busy background and I think it takes away from your subject. There's a cool tutorial on using channels and the brush tool to blur out the entire image and only paint back in the area you want to be sharp. It gives you a lens baby effect. I think this image would have been perfect for that. Just MHO. :-) |

Love the setting for this shoot - provides a nice mix of tones and textures. The highlights on her tummy are just a tad high on this monitor (which tends to run a bit high) but otherwise the exposure is good, the pose is good. Are you going to post more from this shoot? And I agree that I'd like to see it in B&W, though I do like the toning in this one. |

Nice pic, good pose, good lighting. The sepia doesn't work for me though, have you tried a straight black/white conversion? I think it might be really great. |

Clearly a child in the photo... no vote yet, but it's a child right then and there... Hmmm... |
