 Duart Castle stands on the Isle of Mull, I've visited it several times but this is the first time I've gone to the seaward side. Shot with the Lensbaby Composer and double glass optic.

Greetings from the Critique Club

Well, this is going to be difficult for me to critique under the circumstances, but as you have put it up for comments, I will give it a go. I personally like it very much, but I think you already knew that.

I was browsing through the highest LB scores section and noted that there are quite a few rather high scoring images with the LB. Perhaps people are starting to appreciate the blurry effects now.

As far as your score goes, I do think it was pretty respectable for a lensbaby image. I think possibly the burnt out highlights in the sky may have made the difference between 5.8 and 6, sorry I didn't think to mention it before! I'm not sure if that's a product of the lensbaby itself, or if it's come about by the b&w processing, but it did possibly impact the score.

Overall the moodiness created by the heavy sky really makes this image. I'm certain there are still a few people put off by the blur, but still a good performance from where I am sitting. Well done!

It is hard to imagine that this is summer. I still like it and think it's a pretty cool LB image.

Ya, LB, a castle, and ominous sky. Has a horror movie feel. Love the contrast in this image.
