Pretty birds, sad story. I haven't heard of abandoned roosters around here. It's usually dogs and cats. Not a nice practice whatever the species. |

Each one a different color!
Not very nice - abandoning animals anywhere... |

This looks a lot like the ones that live on my street. They visit my yard every morning to eat the feed that my pet parrots scatter out of their cages. |

The reason they're dumped. Sadly it's very easy to buy chickens in the pet shops here, and people think they're going to be able to keep them for laying eggs, but the chickens grow up to be roosters. There are by-laws here that you can keep hens, but not roosters in town. So .... the roosters get 'freed' and end up on the side of roads in parking areas. Went back and visited the boys today with some pellets. |

Ok so I am curious. Why are people abandoning these animals? That is so sad! I'd feel bad seeing this and knowing they were dumped. Were they pets first or what? What a bummer :( |

People abandon roosters?? How utterly odd. These three are quite handsome and still look very healthy. Hopefully people like you are feeding them. |
