 Printed out an image as a backdrop.
Heated some black treacle and had my dad pour it on his hand and then captured the affect.

Very nice idea, the treacle looks amazing; sorry for the DQ. You'd probably have to keep up with the forum conversations to know about the other photos that have been disqualified for this reason.

This would do better with grunge. Your hand is too clean. Nice idea though.

pardon me sir, but i'm starting to get a little tired of photos with fake backgrounds. the lighting doesn't even match very well. well, if the background was for real, the 2nd sentence of my comment still holds. good try though, and i like your title. oil is indeed gold.

unfortunately this is way too obvious of a hand in front of a photo.
