I'm not sure how this will do I like that it fades from soft to focused. Probably in the 4's

Hey there from the Critique Club

First off, always try to include some info about the shot in the Photographer's Comments section. It really helps out when we know what the photographer was thinking and what equipment/lighting/etc. were used, especially when you request a critique.

Camera Work/Technical: Your chosen depth of field is absolutely the main strength of the image. I really like the transition from crisp focus to soft blur. Well captured!

Lighting: I also like the even lighting you achieved here. No detail was lost in harsh highlights or in deep, dark shadows.

Composition/Content: I would like to see a bit stronger composition here. While I am no stickler for the 'rules of photography' by any means, this one is just a bit too centered for my eye.

My Opinion: 5.6 is a nice, strong score for this image. Flowers are so hard to guess with the voters here. To me, I don't see the subject as pink. It seems more purple. Anyway, your excellent depth of field pulled a nice score.

Thank you for the opportunity to provide a critique on your entry,
Eric

Rosemary this is very pretty - I love that color! The variation in focus is wonderful because it creates an illusion of depth. The viewer is forced to stare at it for longer than a DPC second (hehe) to try and understand the orientation. Great entry!

blurry spot on the right is a bit distracting. Other than that I think this is a beautiful picture.
