I had fun doing this one. Really cliche I know but it was still fun.
THanks to BrianR's DPC ribbon shot and my iPhone 3GS.

You can see how I set this up (what a mess right).

Anyway I used my iPhone to display Brian's ribbon. I leaned over the chair and took the shots handheld / manual focused with my D3/Nikkor 105mm macro combination.

Will probably be penalized for not being original or creative or maybe the blue is too dark if compared to DPC's blue ribbon. Who cares really , I like it and if at least 1 person likes it (hopefully more) I'm cool.

Now the mystery of why there is grey around the edges of the drops has been solved. Thanks for showing your set up. Because the white paper was not lit in any way it turned to grey when you exposed for the self-illuminated iphone picture. :)

Good job Andrew. I think that thanks to me not entering we will likely lose the FDPC. Sorry about that. I am certainly willing to give it another go if you are when the second one is announced. :)

Not sure what's happened here, but the waterdrops (I'm assuming it's water) have come out a strange grey colour around the ribbon which isn't particularly appealing.

I also think this is a concept which is a touch overdone here, so for me to score it highly you would have to pull it off in either spectacular fashion or some sort of different approach, I'm afraid neither of which you've managed here for me.

Why do I find cliche shots to be more than appropriate for this challenge?

The photo is well done, and the ribbons are prominent. My only pet peeve about the photo is that this theme has been done many times before.
