OK, I'm going through the Free Study submissions, purposefully finding those images I think are shot with a less conventional eye - this is one of those images! Thanks for offering something that isn't just DPC friendly eye-candy (though of course there's nothing wrong with eye-candy):
Positives: I really like the way you have framed this image, both with the trees and the desaturation / solarisation of the horizon. I think it is clear that you have taken some trouble to lead our eye where you want it to go.
Critical stuff: Though effective, I'm not sure you've maximised the potential in this image. The city itself sits separately from the rest of the frame and although I am sure that was your intent, this technique goes beyond the hypothecation of elements and actually makes the image feel a bit disjointed.
Overall: I have some issues with this image but I quite like it nonetheless. |
