I thought, with this lighting, crop and degree of detail, the face could be seen either as a profile or frontal view.

If she'd taken off her glasses, this would've gotten a posthumous ribbon (not because I don't like glasses but because it would have been even harder to recognize the forms). Not that you need more posthumous ribbons. They're probably clogging the drain already.

I thought this was under-rated as well. I loved everything about it. This one made me think :)

I agree it is under-rated. It got a 9 from me also. One of the more creative shots in the challenge.

5.4419 and 240th out of 412; you got a 9 from me so I'd like to offer some more recognition for this work:

This was one of the standouts for me in this challenge - I should have known. Really great work.

This is so weird - and interesting! And the title is a curious one. I love how you've used the pane to create a soft and textured photo.

The second girl isn't very evident. But I still love this picture. I might have taken off her glasses...a little distracting. But overall a really nice pic. A bit of enigma, a bit of abstract, a bit of grunge.

This photo is fascinating in it's mystery and texture. Definitely not a run of the mill shot and lacking in many technical areas, but it doesn't seem to matter. I enjoy it. 7

OK, I'm going through the Free Study submissions, purposefully finding those images I think are shot with a less conventional eye - this is one of those images! Thanks for offering something that isn't just DPC friendly eye-candy (though of course there's nothing wrong with eye-candy):

Positives: Wow, brave image to stick in a DPC FS - I love it!! I presume this is a reflection in a distressed polished surface...? It serves you very well creating a look we normally only see with overlays. The subject matter is sublime - we see enough but not too much and our eye is constantly led away to the sharp details of the reflective surface itself. The title intrigues me.... Two Girl? Does this allude to the reflection and thus suggest that this is a self portrait?

Critical stuff: I have none, I love this image... I'm between a 9 and a 10, I don't know where I'll end up with it, but it will get one of those.

Overall: Excellent work - I'd love to see more people post up this sort of material.

Very abstract. Like the B&W, like the overlay in this image.
