 done in completely dark room, tripod and used only the light from the lamp. Also used remote trigger.

It was nearly impossible to get the lava to look sharp as it's inside a glass container with some type of liquid inside and it just never looks clear.

I was advised that I could legally clone out the little blobs, but got the info immediately before roll over and couldn't do it!!!! :(

Hi from the Critique Club,

You asked for your shot to have an in depth comment from a member of the Critique Club.

Cool shot, it is something completely different than what I thought it was when I was voting.

The only thing wrong with this shot is the focus and you touched upon that in your comments. I am not sure if unsharp mask could have helped any here, but it is worth a shot. Flipping the shot may have been interesting too. There really is not a lot I can say about a perfect picture that just needs one thing sorting.

I love how the smooth curves all compliment each other, the red is very sensual, I could stare at lava lamps for hours.

I thought the focus was going to doom this, but it came in fairly well. I suppose my pre-challenge feedback was too doomy & gloomy on this one. Everytime I think I have it figured out, I am surprised. (Of course, I did not vote on this.) Good going!
