his closed eyes and coloration reminds me of newborn white mice. there's something so very naked about him. makes me feel instantly sympathetic. |

This photo is a subtle perfection of elements. The pastel tones present the right emphasis for the closed pink areas of mouth and eyes, the clouds pick up the white of the horse, the composition emphasizing the horse's head, giving it a disturbing prominence, the angle that makes the mane look like hair. Even the power lines serve to make the simple composition more interesting. Oddly, disturbingly perfect. And the title fits as well, suggesting a deep sort of beauty that transcends cycles of birth and death. I give you my Posthumous Red Ribbon.

I don't think I've ever seen a picture of a horse with its eye closed. There's something oddly personal about it. |

Gorgeous. Except for the electrical tower, which kind of kills the mood and flow of the scene for me. |
