not enough lighting, too blurry, and I can't see the deep dof

Could just crop off the top third and improve this a lot. I do like the play on words with digging in the field

This is a marvellously lyrical shot of what is often so very humdrum and messy. You've turned it into some kind of balletic exercise in light. I particularly like the negative space (though I'm certain many people won't understand the point of it). There's that odd smooth quality - is this NI doing it's more heavy work?, or some sort of channel-split gaussian blur? - but it's everso effective in this case.

Obviously has no place in this challenge, unfortunately, and I'm sure you'll have been told that already ... but a wonderful shot nevertheless.

I think it's a bit heavy on the NI...lots of detail is lost. Great idea and lighting.

Don't quite get what you were trying with this one.
Good luck though

The focus on the workers looks rather weird to me, as if it has been overly manipulated in post-processing. It's an interesting shot but I can't really relate it to deep depth of field. The foreground appears to be out of focus, although it is so dark it is hard to tell. I can't tell anything about the background as it is completely dark. The light doesn't appear to be in sharp focus but that could be the flare. Deep depth of field requires that everything from the foreground to infinity be in focus.

I don't see much DOF in the photo, unless you count puns.

Too much neatimage?

I'm not sure, but that's my guess.
