Like gsals Big Girl Now, this is one of those shots I keep going back to and viewing over and over again. Agree with everyone else that the shot has such a '50s movie star feel to it. I'm surprised it hasn't received more favorites in 9 months. |

Hi from the Critique Club
You asked for this shot to have a comment from a member of the Critique Club.
I really liked this shot and gave it high score in the challenge
This reeks of 1940-50's with the lipstick, very simple and clean.
There is not a lot I can say that could improve this shot, maybe, just maybe saturating the eyes and a tiny bit of dodge and burn before turning this to black and white would have given the eyes some more depth.
But this is a fabulous shot |

its very pretty, reminds my of like old time movie star I wonder if you are telling her something or she is seeing something cause it looks like the mouth is in the middle of going from no smiling to smiling or maybe even a little shyness there |

if Heida were in here, i would not be surprised if she entered this. i don't quite know why. somehow it seems to fit the arc of her work.
great tones and it looks like a movie still. |

Nice portrait. Longer lens with even less depth would have even made this better. Good enough as is |

feels like it's 1950 looking at this... even though I wasn't alive yet... haha |

Yes, very "Heidish" style. I like it very much... will be voting later.
... Love the expression, the crispy eyes, a beutiful B&W portrait. On my top 3 list! |

This is good! It does look like something I think she would do. Nice job! |

Nice portrait! A trick I learned somewhere. Desaturate the photo, layer mask and brush over the eyes, then desat again. With a little tweeking you end up with a desaturated/black and white photo with more punch in the eyes. |

A bit over-sharpened, IMHO. |
