| How cool! You and Tom not only finished next to each other, but you both got Paul's "longer look" comments! I didn't realize he'd be doing it for that long, did you? This shot works very well for me - I can visit with it for a long time. Note the commenter average on this one. |

| When all was said and done, I gave this a nine. Reminded me a bit of my own still life entry from last month's free study. Sorry it didn't score better for you, but it doesn't matter much. Keep doing what you're doing. |

| I wasn't sure about the background, but this is growing on me. Gives it some context (the city) without being overbearing. The colors are beautiful. |

OK, I'm going through the Free Study submissions, purposefully finding those images I think are shot with a less conventional eye - this is one of those images! Thanks for offering something that isn't just DPC friendly eye-candy (though of course there's nothing wrong with eye-candy). I'll be picking one of these images for my Mu (most underrated) award:
Positives: Not just your everyday flower shot this one because of course the background is just as, if not more so, important. I wonder where we are? A home or a cafe? Whichever, it doesn't really matter - your image manages to convey a cosy feel; we are very much inside, looking out. The colours are really good too and the flower works really well with the background bokeh.
Critical stuff: Nothing really, I think you've pulled off your intention very well indeed.
Overall: A really interesting image that brings something new to the flower shot. |
