the ball is a bit overexposed on the top, and I am not sure, but I think it is causing the name of the ball to appear more out of focus than it should be. Also, placing the ball on a solid color backdrop would make this shot more appealing. .. and placing the ball further to one side of the frame.

Over exposed, otherwise a nice shot...

a little overly lit.

Sorry , not very good, shadow too stong, white too btight, wtong graming (move the ball a little on the right, with the shadow going on the left, you can. The lower left 'thing' in the surface is very distracting, it looks too much likte the border of the table. 4. Lionel

not very interesting

I think colour may have been a better choice over grayscale: you have nice texture, and the wood would have made the golf ball stand out more.

A little too much light and washed out the dimples on top. Meets the challenge well. Pretty good pic. Good 6. PTL

Your pic is spoiled by having it dead centered. I think it would have turned out better if you had off-center it to the right. That way, the shadow would have pointed back to the ball.

The ball seems a bit burned out. Good focus thought. DPz

It's a bit boring this way. Subject and background are not related.
It would have been nicer when it was shot on the green, a bunker or just the grass in the park or your garden. What would add to that is a focus on the ball and using DOF to get a blurred background with a flagpole by the hole or something like that.
For this shot: good focus, but too much light on top of the ball and a light or reflective white paper on the other side could have done something about the shadow.

At least on my monitor it got a little washed-out. Fro this kind of photo I expect (and prefer) to see all the dimples.

A bit over exposed. Nice idea and set up.

Thanks alot! I was trying to get over golf (season's over here). Nice subject, however the harsh light (flash) washed out the details of the golf ball. Good luck on the course. Jacko.

Dimples are a little washed out. Perhaps having the light further back would have helped.

overexposed

This is a good macro shot, but not a very interesting subject. Maybe color would have made it more interesting. Like the shadow.

Neat..
