Unfortunately I can't see the "hug" - just a dark blur. |

not quite working. I think the reason is partly that it is difficult to see the hugger because the black hairs are merging somewhat. I'm guessing a lot of DPCers will not like the graininess. Personally I quite like grain and blur but generally when done to the extent of this photo it works better B&W |

Whoa...I was surprised too! This photo almost looks pixelated which to me, means that it was cropped far to close. It may also mean that I am totally out of my mind and have no idea what I'm talking about. It certainly adds to the effect of feeling surprised. |

Looks like this was taken at a high ISO setting, plus heavy JPEG compression is adding visible pixelation. Your file size is only 35k and you could have used up to 150k for this challenge. Compression kills detail. Always use the least JPEG compression you can get away with and still come in under challenge limits. |
