Thanks for your comment. I marked it as helpful. Your edited version is okay, but on my calibrated monitor, your version shows some detail lost in the shadows and a few blown out highlights. That's okay. It is the definition of higher contrast. And, it is a matter of taste and a function of monitor calibration. In general, it has served me well to sacrifice the "pop" of high contrast for discernible detail throughout the scene. I may not be right. And, I really appreciate the time you took to comment on my image. Much appreciated.

The title "Wapiti" is very helpful in my work. Europeans know the moose by the name "elk". So, to avoid confusion with the international crowd which visits RMNP, I've found it better communication to use the native American term for this species of large cervids.
