Good depth of field for such high magnification. Lighting is reasonalbe for the subject. However, picture is a bit dark over all. Perhaps some work in a photo editing program to lighten it up, or a different surface, or colored surface to add some life to the picture. It tends to come across as a random jumble of crystals on a dark grey surface. Has potential to be much more. You are on the right track with good instincts. Going with a 6 here. |

you get a ten, 'cause you're so macroed in this shot that the subject looks totally different than it does with the naked eye. |

i think a different angle would have made this more interesting...slightly out of focus...too busy (could have used fewer grains) |

Not exciting but scientifically fantastic and technically great. Shows the shapes beautifully. Good choice of B & W. solid 9. PTL |

that must be some very large salt Did you try placing them into an arranged form or pattern? Might have helped your image. |
