 for the september macro side challenge

used kenko 36mm extension tube ..
the small black ants eating the sugar ant are larger than the ones eating the green beetle .. maybe twice the size ..

the beetle is the main course .. !!


& this is the dessert ..


for insect macros i usually use a Canon Speedlight 580EXII external flash with a Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce plastic diffuser ..

That extender tube looks pretty darn cool! That might go on my wish list some day...

I just noticed the flash--do you have a ring flash or something?

If that is entree and there's beetle for main course, what's for dessert? It's a fantastic shot Roz, and more than worthy of any nature magazine.
