One of thousands of caterpillars that have invaded my property. This one was quietly sitting on my porch railing ... figured a caterpillar is a good subject for the "waiting" topic... waiting for a transformation that should begin soon (I hope, so they'll fly off and leave me along).

Macro shot, cropped at full size, processed as RAW. Adjusted levels, neatimage.

Caterpillars turn into butterflies (or moths) after a period of time. That would be the "wait".

That would be the tail out of focus, and apparently you didn't learn in elementary school that caterpillars eventually turn into butterflies.. hence, the "wait".
