Taken at Boavista Orchards. Fire was being used to keep customers warm. Was really too close for comfort and I tried to be fast to keep from damaging my camera.

Alex, it's a really nice photo. I like the colour and the focus although I think the DOF is too narrow. But I guess you couldn't take your time to setup your tripod over the fire and use a longer exposure ;-)

Thank you all for your comments on this pic. Both the camera and I survived. Though it did get pretty warm pretty quick. This was a one shot take. After the first one, I thought better of giving it a second try.

This is a very strong photo, but it needs just a little work on the composition. A stronger use of the rule of thirds would help. 8

I've looked and looked at this and am still convinced it is hot charcoal. If so how did you get the picture without burning your hands or camera? I must be wrong. It's still looks like that though. 7 based on being charcoal. PTL

Holy ....! Get your camera away from there - it's hot don'tcha know.
A good shot, nice colours and great detail on the coal. Must have been hard keeping exposure under control?
