| Post voting comment upon request. I rather like these things as subject matter, but I'm weird. Not everyone likes powerlines... go figure! Anyway, meets the challenge - definitely lines, definitely straight. Good color without being oversaturated (though oversaturated will often work well at DPC... use it sparingly). Where it probably lacks in scoring is overall beyond-the-challenge "appeal" - in other words, it's a solid shot, good focus, reasonably clean from noise, but is it something you'd use as a screensaver on your computer or print and hang by your desk? Keep in mind that's very subjective - many of my shots I can answer yes to those questions, but no one else would! So you need to do two things, at a minimum, at DPC to score well - meet the challenge, unequivocably, and have appeal to the masses. |
