Post-voting comment upon request. You got a 6 from me. I thnk it meets the challenge, as it is indeed composed of straight lines and I do like that you've focused on the textures in the foreground yet still encompased the signs of decay in the background as well. Where I think it is lacking a bit is the background, which predominates; it needs a focal point of sorts and less empty space. As it is now, the pole with the round bit at the end dominates, and that fails to garner much interest in most viewers, I'd wager. Maybe framing with more of the foreground, or getting up higher to look down more - get more of the door, less of the blown out sky? I do like the "out of the box" type approach to this - I'm assuming that as you were shooting, you were considering ways for things to meet the challenge? Gives you fun perspectives on things, even if the results don't always give you good scores, yes? |
