Many, many thanks to my husband, my daughter, and my youngest son for help with this. It was a bigger deal than I thought it would be, but they really quite cheerfully did everything I asked them to do.
The fire, the horse, the flashlight, the modeling... Such troopers! And that fire was HOT. We couldn't get the horse to feel comfortable any closer. I had a different scene in my mind when I imagined this, but I think this works too.
I cloned out My Beloved's wedding ring glinting in the firelight. It just doesn't seem right for a cowboy to have a wife he's left at home. *smile*
ETA: Thanks bunches for all of your congratulations. You folks are always so wonderful at making a girl feel special!
I have to post this, one of my favorite comments ever here, in case you don't read it below. TOO hilarious, this man... *sigh* Originally posted by Art Roflmao: Great job, Lydia! I had this EXACT same idea, but I couldn't get a horse or a cowboy or a guitar. ;-)
RE: The wedding ring - Sounds like something that could be made into a country song...
I cloned out my wedding ring last night
since my woman done left me after our fight
So now I'm cloning her out of my life.
that's as far as I got - it's a work in progress. :P |

Well, nobody else has mentioned it, so I think I have to...he's playing the guitar backwards. :( OK, maybe one in 10,000 guitars is strung left handed, but they are very rare. Maybe you flipped the image? Most people probably don't care, but to a guitar player, it's about as important as not flipping writing.
As a teenager, I had a poster of a guy playing sax, but obviously neither the model or the photographer knew anything about saxophones, because the moutpiece was on upside down. :)

lol I have no witty comment to follow the one left by Art - oh well
Anywho - very nice down-home kind of shot. Feels comfy and relaxing. I'm ready to toast some marshmallows now! Congrats on the top 10! |

This is a great picture and I appreciate it even more knowing first hand how laborious it is to shoot it. Your horses always add so much to your pictures. Congratulations on the top 10 finish Lydia. |

Very nice picture. I would have loved if the horses were easier to see, as it's very dark. Nice picture. |

Nicely done. Keep up the great work. Looks like it could be a cover of Louis Lamour Book. |
