You almost saw Academy Lamps I in the 2009-09 Free Study. That one was in black and white and the lighting a bit more dynamic. But this one in color gave more attention to the flames/fire so I did not convert it.

Really did not have time to shoot or think of shooting much of anything else as I was doing a photo diary for a visting poet since this past Thursday. So right before I started it, I shot this which happened to be across the street from the first venue of the diary.

POST:
Camera Raw adjustments in PSElements 6.0.
Layer adjustments for levels, brightness/contrast and hue/saturation.
Distortion tool and correct camera distortion to straighten.
4 crops.
Adjust sharpness.
Spot edit dust and some distactions on the nearest door.
Burnt upper left corner slightly.
Adjust color curves: Increase contrast default.
Resize.
USM.

The overall image is too bright , reducing the impact of the flames.5

To me, this shot's composition does not appear to be very compelling. The flame does not seem to be the central point of focus.
