Hey there from the Critique Club

My thoughts on the image: Your image is full of vibrancy and interesting colors. My eye is immediately drawn to the various fruits and pulled into the image. The colors are terrific and captivating, which, as other voters have mentioned, is also the primary flaw of the image.

My ideas for improvement: This would have scored much better, in my opinion, with the owner cropped out and the image submitted to artificial lighting. DPC voters lover vibrant colors and seem drawn to them like mosquitoes to those bright, purple bug zappers. As mentioned earlier, the owner himself is difficult to find in the image. However, the fruit is lit with nice, even, artificial lighting.

Where I would have/did score this entry: I did vote on this one and it pulled a 5 from me. I like the flow of the image as well as the bug-zapping colors, but the challenge was missed in my opinion. Looking back at it now, I would have probably have hit it with a 4.

Thank you for the opportunity to provide a critique on your entry,
Eric

The title contradicts the image.
Even though it was The Fruit Shop Owner, you focused on the fruit.
It actually took me a moment to even notice the guy in the corner.

Sorry about first comment and the low first rate. I just misunderstood rules of the contest about having or not peoples in the frame...Anyway I will fix my mistake. Thanks for you understanding

I am not sure but to my mind there is a difference of inio or out of frame and a certain crop. Nothing is moving into or out of and therefore I won't be voting on this very interesting picture.

wow, cool place. i love these markets. maybe the lighting is a bit strong as there is loss of detail in the center area.

Nice colour, nice composition. I didn't notice the man in the corner for a while, makes it interesting. Only critique I have is to make use of an external flash to make the lighting a little brighter - it's quite dark in some places and the shadows are very dark.

I'd like to see a little more light coming from behind the shop owner.

Well I can barely see the fruit shop owner..he isn't the main subject and if I hadn't looked closer I would not have seen him at all...But pretty colors.

Nicely captured. All the bright fruit takes full attention at first, but then the owner comes into the picture to add more interest.
