 Process: Almost total darkness. USed a red laser pen to create the wicks. Painted light using crank-LED flashlight. Same flashlight used to create smoke (smoke is the hardest part - nowhere near satisfied with it).

Edit in LIghtroom: tone curve to reduce highlights and midtone brightness. Tweaked saturation to remove blue cast. Crop / rotate. Cropped some more in Photoshop. Reduced down. Noise ninja to sharpen. Cloned small sensor dust spot in bottom right corner. Save for web.

the white balance seems to be a bit too cool for the subject. I would have liked to have been able to see the smoke a bit less blury.
