The Sir Adam Beck power plant on the hill overlooking the Niagara Gorge. There's a strange form of ivy covering this building that changes colour with the seasons...I've never seen that before...but then again, I probably don't get out often enough. :-)

A three-bracket set of exposures tonemapped in Photomatix. In Photoshop, a bit of Nik Color EFEX and some levels/saturation modification. Oh, and sharpen, too...

Nice shot David, and good result. Ive passed this building many times, but never would have thought of it for this challenge.

Very impactful shot. Since the building is symmetrical, I would have centred it.

Lovely light on this.

I like the color palette here with all the muted tones. The sky and building (HDR?) go great together. The composition may have worked better centered, as putting the building off center look awkward to me since htere is not added on the left by doing so. The high power lines are kind of ugly, but I am not sure if the rules would let you clone out that much.

i wonder if anyone is commenting about how they can't quite put their finger on it but it seems tilted. they're probably throwing around the word "distracting" as they oft do. you probably spent a lot of time rotating it left and right, but i don't even know if it's possible to fully "fix" this kind of thing.

anyway, this shot is awesome. it's an extremely creative take on the challenge, and your processing is amazing. 10 from me.

This looks like HDR, but luckily, it's not too overdone to make it grey and dull; the colors are still nice and bright! The building looks very beautiful, old, and calm, but the distortion gives off a feeling of strength and arrogance, which I think doesn't work with this particular building. Maybe try a longer lens (the reflection in the windows make me think you had plenty of room to back up) or a tilt-shift lens? The reflections in the windows are gorgeous, by the way, especially the inclusion of the flag.

Great catch! Very interesting subject. I had some of this stuff growing on my house and it is like wildfire. Beautiful photo! :)

This is nice and stands out because it's different from most of the other shots.

I like the whole feel of this image, everything in it, including the power lines and bollards add to this nicely. Each object tells a little bit more about the story of this structure and the sky finishes it off nicely.

Interesting building, and I like the ominous sky. It makes this building look all the more menacing. I would've preferred it be centered, since the minimal offset seems almost incidental. I suspect you have a power substatoin to the right that may have prevented this though...

Neat building. Love the encroachment by the ivy. Terrific processing. Great work.
