Nice shot of Edinburgh castle! For me the castle is more interesting than the rose so I would have liked to see it in focus, but that might just be a personal thing.

Interesting DOF. I wasn't sure if I liked it at first but I decided I do. However, I'd rather see less green at the bottom. In general, I really like this shot.

That castle is way more interesting than the flower and that's where my eyes want to go but I figure a flower lover will appreciate it more.

4 - Good potential. Like the concept. Nice roses. As is, a more refined crop, especially at the right and bottom would have given this more of an edge in my opinion. Some tweaking in post processing would also have taken this a little further. Just noticed the man at the last minute - I guess the first thought is that the capture of him looking at the camera like this gives a snapshottish feel to it and whilst perhaps he could be incorporated into the image as an element, it may have been best to clone him out, maybe. Also, 'next time', trying to get the bunch of roses bottom left, the ones behind the two main players, fully within the 'fork frame', rather than obstructed by a leaf or two, would just help refine this a little more.
