I elected to use a rating table to decide on what value to assign during voting.
Here̢۪s the table:
1 No Animal/People Interaction
2 Slightly Appealing, but no Animal/People Interaction
3 Moderately Appealing, but on Animal/People Interaction
4 Greatly Appealing, but no Animal/People interaction
5 Not Appealing, but possessing Animal/People Interaction
6 Slightly Appealing and possessing Animal/People Interaction
7 Moderately Appealing and possessing Animal/People Interaction
8 Greatly Appealing and possessing Animal People Interaction
9 Better than #8, and caused an audible sigh
10 Better than #9, and would likely declare it a favorite

Lighting is a bit harsh, dof is too inclusive... A little more invention and attention to quality details would take this subject further here. Try a different angle, from below the dog or above the groomer, to give it a unique feel, rather than a snapshot feel that anybody could achieve. If you want to score well, you have to stand out from the crowd a bit.

The dog looks quite happy to be groomed. Light is a little harsh but that may have been unavoidable. I think I might have shot with a shallower DOF and processed this in B&W to let some of the background recede more.

i love dogs but i would hate that job, haha, great capture! it has a nice documentary feel.
