Please indulge me this month as I make a rather bold transition in my life.

I am leaving 21 years of living in the suburbs and am becoming an 'inner city girl' again.

This has been a huge surprise for us as a family - but now an extremely WELCOMED one!

As I move, I'm leaving a stunning home that I designed myself and thought I'd live in FOREVER (does that make it a coffin?)

Anyhoo - I'm now in the most STUNNING park edged city dwelling - and life is marvellous.

Still you'll find me saying both Hello AND Goodbye this month to my different lives and dwellings.

This is GOODBYE - to the booth I SO wanted, designed and dreamed I'd spend so much time on - it didn't work out that way - it looked stunning, but we rarely used it!

Lisa, I love this, so simple and elegant. Good luck with the move! I used to live in the city center in Chicago, I loved city life. Now I live on the edge of a lake and that's quite OK too. :) Enjoy your time in the city.

I thought they were gymnastic rings or some such too - had me staring in wonderment for a moment at the apparent incongruity, and also thinking how cool it would be to have gymnastic equipment in the living room!

Sorry you have to give up a home you so clearly tailored for yourself, even as you do look forward to your new dwelling place.

Yes, very clean, simple, subtle use of the LB.
And change is good, you'll have memories of the past and anticipation of the future. Best wishes.

Lovely simplicity and composition.
Thank you Tom for pointing out the lamps.
In my imagination they were rings that you swing on, gymnast style.
I hope to see the new dwelling too, sounds terrific!

Those thingies hanging from the ceiling -- remind me of claws.... no wonder you didn't spend much time in the booth. Neat Lensbaby shot.

Good luck on the move. Keep us posted.

Wonderful in its simplicity. I know those are lamps hanging from the ceiling but I keep thinking chains or something. Good luck in your move! I am in a similar home in the country, but when I visit Chicago or NY (or Cleveland) I often wonder what city living would be like...
