at first, i thought this sounded like a fun challenge and then i realized 47 steps isn't that far and dragging someone along to do a portrait felt like cheating. by the time i found another spot 47 steps from my door, i hated this challenge...nnnnnnd i gave up and sat down and took a few shots of my shoes. this is what came out of that. still, it feels like giving in.

oh, well, maybe it'll make it above a five (although i doubt it).

I love the laces...when you take a picture of feet and feel like you have captured someone's personality, well that is something to be proud of..( ok it is a self-portrait but it is still relevant)..the quirky angle of the ankles...nice work...

thanks! i really like this shot and it was absolutely born out of frustration. i made probably 20 "47-steps" trips trying to find an interesting shot and nothing came together. i was worried that people would question whether it was really 47 steps from my door (it was) but it didn't come up.

Heh! You made it considerably above a 5! And 'twas a good idea. I did try for this challenge, ended up with a view of the garages across from my door, but never did think to look down. Smart!

cool tones, give the image a really "sharp" feel and makes the pink in the laces really pop

awww, I feel sorry for you that all you had was your shoes. You did well though. You can't help it sometimes, especially if you live in the cement cities.
