The weather was crap the day I took this shot, I was actually thinking that I had a better chance at capturing a real rainbow. However I was set on this idea. I got lucky and got some blue sky which the entire portion of the sky that was blue is in this photo the rest of the sky was greyish black overcast yuk! Set up a SB-600 on a tripod with a SU-4 wireless remote controller. Mounted a SB-400 to the camera and angled it upwards about 40 degrees, Had my wife hold the ends of the rope up over here head tight enough to keep the clips upright and snapped as many shots as I could before her arms got tired and she totally lost intrest in helping me which as usual didn't take very long.
PP: Opened in Camera Raw, Cropped, Adjusted Exposure, Contrast and Hues, Vignetting, Sharpness, and Vibrance. Opened in PS CS4 used adjustment layers for Levels and Curves, Highlights and Shadows a little burn around some of the hotspots from the flash. Resized, USM, Added Border, saved for web.
I have no idea how this will do, Hoping it will score well. I purchased a new monitor this week and realized that for the past year or so I have not been doing a very good job processing photos. Amazing what a difference a good monitor can make, Haven't had a decent monitor for a couple of years and have been doing most of my processing on a laptop screen so I suddenly feel refreshed.
Thanks for the votes and especially the comments. My score was 6.1 before rollover but dropped to a 6.0 usually it goes up a little not down. Kind of disappointed that I got so many 3's and 4's for this image with no critique to go along with them. But I suppose that is to be expected here. |

| I like the idea and technically it looks ok, but there is something that lacks to me that I don't feel that I want to give 9 or 10. I think maybe it's how the they are lit. Anyway, it's a really good photo that I gave a 8. |
