I built a light box out of some chairs, a bolt of white material and close pins. The cup was placed on a small bottle (behind the cup in the picture) above a piece of fiber board. All that was left to do was adjustments in color, contrast and cropping.

Greetings from the Critique Club!

I can really see potential in this image but its a really hard concept to pull off. You need to have just the right lighting set up to separate your subject from the background when they are both the same color. Its even more important when you have one subject and a flat background like this. I'd be curious to see this with a bit more light and more white than brown/cream.

I am assuming you used flash based on your comments. I would have either increased the output of the flash or went with a larger aperture because this does seem a bit underexposed. (Based on the noise I'd guess it was quite underexposed then brightened in post-processing). Perhaps with a larger aperture you'd get a shallower depth of field and create more of a feeling of depth.

A simple strong image. I would try and lighten and boost the contrast in PS

Nice simple subject, but looks like your white balance was off, or you were intentionally going for the yellowish look! Image seems a little noisy! 6

a bit too cream for me.Would have been nicer if the gold either glowed a bit or a ray of light reflected off it.

A nice still life, although the image appears a little soft and dare i say it... having everying 'Cream' appears a little overwhealming.

Centered Composition - yes. Subject Interest - weak. White balance appears to be off in this image, has a very orange cast to it.
