I actually found this very interesting and gave it a 6. Although I wouldn't have guessed it was a mortuary! I liked the lines and the squares -- interesting geometry.

I like the abstract nature of this, the mix of shapes, the contrast. It won't appeal to all tastes, but it appeals to me.

OK, I'm going through the Free Study submissions, purposefully finding those images I think are shot with a less conventional eye - this is one of those images! Thanks for offering something that isn't just DPC friendly eye-candy (though of course there's nothing wrong with eye-candy). I'll be picking one of these images for the Mu (most underrated) award:

Positives: Interesting choice of subject and one the benefits from some strong geometric elements. This strikes me as having quite difficult ambient light to shoot with, but I think you've got it just right. I like the muted colour palette too.

Critical stuff: The intrinsic interest level in the scene makes it all to easy for you to hit the interest ceiling pretty quickly.

Overall: Although you've made a good job of capturing this scene - in the end I'm not sure that's enough to make you entry truly compelling.

IMO you have the start of a great picture...but it needs to be in super sharp focus for me
