 This was just too fun. It's about 11 am in the morning, and these guys are repairing this section of the road. While everyone waits. Not especially patiently, I might add. But they'd shovel in the hot tar, the one guy would smooth it, two other guys would throw water on the parts he'd finished, and another guy was throwing some chemical on top to set it.

And oddly, this is one of my favorite shots from the trip. But then I'm kinda odd... :-)

All the elements in dynamic interplay. And the tight framing shows them off well. I can almost smell the asphalt...

Hot dam? I could cry: out my way the tar truck comes with 2 to 4 louts with fat shovels who will occasionally throw a glob at a hole then stand around and smoke if you don't mind my using the s word. Your guy is actually kneeling in a balanced position as he uses his smoothing board. Yeah - water wave, steam, flourescence, morning rocks.
