In my opinion, this would have done better if the lighting wasn't quite as harsh and direct. If you can, try taking the photos in a well lit area without using the on-camera flash. This can really improve the quality of the light. |

the flash is a little too harsh for me. Would have liked to see some shadows on the cyborg's (?) face. |

I get this, I like the concept and subject. Maybe it's my monitor but it isn't the clear image I would like to see. |

The 2nd shot I get this funky old fashioned lab. feeling from. Great! Almost looks like Two Face from Batman. |

Very flat light from the on camera flash. Try using the light from a window as your modeling light if you don't have an off camera/bounce flash. |
