 Flowers are an intergral part of prayers (Pooja) in the Hindu religion. They are meant to be both, an offering to the Gods as well as a gift received from them. The image you see here was shot at a religious place called Jejuri, an hours drive from the major Indian Metropolis called Pune. The plate is called 'Thali' and the Aarti (A prayer ritual) is performed using the Thali. It usually consists of some flowers, some grains of rice, camphor which is lit and incense sticks. It also has some coloured powders, each of which has its own religious significance.

you are definitely an indian..and i like the shot too..but i don't know how well it will go downn with the majority 'foreign' crowd here on dpc..all the best!

Nice idea but I'm not keen on the shallow angle.

A slightly deeper depth of field to give a bit more detail of people in the back could help give this a more emotive and interesting perspective. As it is, it's too dark to gauge their state of mind.

Nice and colorful. I think the POV could of been better. We really can't see from this basic angle.

For me, this image would have a strong impact if you had the people in the background more in focus.
