Returned home a few hours from rollover, computer slow and no time to download or chimp Thanksgiving vacation pics, so a quick edit from the trip to Pt. Reyes earlier this month and we're in. First entry using Topaz software, the Enhance Simplify to start and then playing with sliders from there. Not all that familiar with the tool, but DPC seems to like i so I figured I'd give it a whirl on this last minute entry.

As for the crop comments: This is full frame, but I get what you mean. Here's why I "cropped" the top: I was out there with the 50-135 lens, and laid down prone on the ground as far away as I could get without trampling the wetlands, and my choices at 50mm were to either lose a bit of the keel or a bit off the top ... I shot both, of course, but liked this one better. (There was another option -- go back to the car parked 100 yards away and grab my 40mm out of the bag ... but I've shot this boat a bunch of times before, didn't imagine I'd use this shoot for my FS, and just wasn't inspired enough to make the extra effort or further delay my run to the coast to catch the fading light)
Post-challenge; Pleased with the score, especially for a last minute chimp of shots from the month and quick edit to squeak in just before the entry deadline. It kissed 6 a few times, and was at 5.9968 an hour before rollover, but just couldn't make it over the hump. |

Maybe cropped a little too close at the top for my preferences, but that's a small nitpick. |

A stark reminder of the power of the sea. I like it, especially for its composition, color saturation and subject matter. Crop is a little tighter than I might have done. |

nice find...I love these land locked boats...old and abandon...I wonder what it would be like in B&W with some sepia on it? |

Still!
Dunno about the crop at the top. |

I've got a book's worth of shots of this same boat. Good angle and lighting. I like the tones in the clouds as well. |
